Paparazzi

This won't be a typical review, we took my Mom out for Mothers day and she would have shot me if I was scribbling notes. I instantly liked Paparazzi as soon as we walked in, old original brick walls, high tin ceilings and white paper table cloths. It felt like a little old nieghborhood Italian resturant in Chicago. We were able to sit in one of the private little alcoves along the wall, great for being able to listen to Mom. The food is traditinal Italian, pastas, veal, chicken, shrimp, scallops and a couple of steaks. We ordered crab cakes and artichoke dip before our meal. The artichoke dip is worth going for alone, not overpowering garlic with a little sour kick. We also enjoyed Shrimp diablo, veal parmagian, chicken marsala, and shrimp and scallop pasta. The food was oustanding, everyone with a full mouth and wide eyes nodding at each other. Our only complaint was the attention of our server, she was always polite but just didn't seem to get the hang of what she was doing. There were several times we had to ask more than once for something to be brought out. It was to the point of affecting our meal. With all the attention to detail of the setting, food, menus, presentaion and layout this had to be some oversihjt or first time jitters. No resturant can be that good at most aspects and totally blow service, for now I'm going to call this an oversight.

Sounds good. I'll have to check them out. I just had Greek's Pizza in Valpo for the first time yesterday -- that was also pretty good. It's not the best I've had, but it was good.
